Just did this out. A logo for a formal occasion. Dun seem quite into the theme. But... I think quite nice. Coz i design it. Hence i tend to see my flaws. Can someone comment on it? thx!

Ya this is my try on De Stijl unknowingly... I have put it up the left upper corner design in my msn to ask people to guess what it is. But only one guy got it correct. The rest could rapidly see what i drawn after i told them the answer.

If you guys dunno what it is, move your mouse cursor to the pic. N i think u should be able to see the answer.

Think i will have more De Stijl works. Coz i am not that great with my photoshop. And De Stijl doesnt need much of the skill. More of working with an idea. And i love this. Think i will make more variety of these designs.

DE STIJL

Dutch for The Style (pronounced the same), De Stijl was the name of a group of artists and architects who gathered around the largely theoretical architect Theo van Doesburg. He founded the group in Leyden in 1917 and published the magazine De Stijl, which ran from 1917 to 1928. During the tumultuous decade following World War I, De Stijl artists set out to create a universal style in painting, architecture and design, using rectangles and squares in flat planes of bold primary colors and black, gray and white, all carefully orchestrated with straight lines. The compelling geometric paintings of Piet Mondrian and equally striking furniture of Gerrit Rietveld have become oft-quoted classics of 20th-century design.

Just heard of this style of arts from my friend after showing him one of my works. Never do i knew something that i like since young actually have a group of artists and architects who like them. Yes i am always amazed how people can just simple lines, squares, circles to depict so many nice simple designs that meant so much. Nowsaday, personally, i think most street wear tee is following this. Simple shapes n lines for a nice nice cartoon deisign. Yes they use more than primary colors. The idea is the same, to me at least. So one of the most seen De Stijl work is at Citilink. Yes the logo there. I will next post my De Stijl works.

L.O.V.E. or 爱

Posted this before in my old blog. But i like it a lot. Hence i am putting it up here. As a form of archieve. As a form of evidence that boring lecture make me creative. Finally, i found the combination to make L.O.V.E. look like 爱. Just so nice that it can be done.

This is the first design that i have done that i think is presentable. And yes it is the first design that i actually got it printed out. Many other memories come along with this logo. Think for this logo i lost around a $1000. Think for this logo it took up a lot of my time then, and subseqently my time in the future and now... Without that project then, I would not have proceed that far...
